5 Last Minute Wines for Gifts

Let's face it, sometimes you forget to get presents for your boss for the holidays. Sometimes you realize you didn't get anything for your friends. Then there's those instances where someone you weren't planning to give a gift to shows up with a present for you, so you feel obligated to get them something in return. We've all been there.

Wine is one of the easiest things to get for your boss and still look like you put some thought into it. Don't be that person who runs to target and picks up a bottle of mass produced table wine (unless it's actually a good one) Here are some of my recommendations for last minute wines to show them you care, and that you know wine! These are all pretty budget friendly and sure to make anyone on your list smile. You can find most of these in your local BevMo, Total Wine or Liquor Store. I also recommend using the Vivino app to purchase any of the below!

- Tattinger Brut La Francaise Champagne N.V.

This one is very bubbly and light, and a GREAT value for your money. You can usually find a bottle of this for between $35 - $40. Nothing says "I got you" like a bottle of champagne.

- Segura Viudas Brut Heredad Riserva

This is an iconic bottle of sparkling wine from Spain. I have one of these in my house that I'm

planning to open up around New Year's Eve. In terms of quality, it's not life changing, but

between the beautiful bottle and pleasant brioche and green fruit flavors, this is a solid gift

that you can usually find for $20

- Mumm Napa Brut Rosé

This is your standard Napa sparkling rosé and for $20, it's really a perfect last minute gift that

you can almost guarantee the recipient will open for New Year's Eve. This one is fruit forward

and effervescent - lots of raspberry and strawberry. Good for your girl friend who swears

"rosé all day" is her motto.

- J Vineyards Russian River Valley Chardonnay

This one is hard to go wrong with for your friend or family member who loves white wine.

If they love Chardonnay they'll like the creaminess of this wine with the classic Russian River

Valley fruit characteristics of citrus, apple and pear. This one will run you between $20-$25.

- Goldschmidt Vineyards, Katherine Goldschmidt Cabernet Sauvignon

This is a fantastic valued cabernet from Alexander Valley. Superbly bold with balanced

tannins and a beautifully fresh berry nose, this is one of the best bottles of Cabernet you're

going to find for $20.

Happy Holidays!
